The Phoenix Art Museum will host an Italian type garden party on Nov. 6.

The event kicks off its fashion exhibition “The White Shirt According to Me: Gianfranco Ferre.”

Check out the exhibition on First Friday as it the only time it will be free. Come join the party, which runs from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. in the museum’s Dorrance Scuplture Garden, and watch the Italian film, Fellini’s “La Dolce Vita.”

See new fashion from The Art Institute students, elegant vintage fashions from local stores, Italian fashion inspired arts, and take your photo in the photo booth.

Order an espresso or try an Italian cocktail at the cash bar (if you are over 21.) Gianfranco Ferre was one of the great designers that elevated Italian fashion to a higher level in the 1980s. His training as an architect influenced his structural approach to his designs.

Note the intricate details of each of the 27 white shirts as you walk through his fashion wonderland. Compare the shirts to his sketches, patterns and photographs of his classics.
